T56 Clutch type Push or Pull
I am doing a conversion with a 1986 Firebird Trans Am with a 305 to a 1978 386 Stroker engine, the Trans is being converted from the original T5 to a 1996 Firebird T56. Many articles out their with conflicting info but my biggest problem are finding the proper clutch and flywheel and is it a Pull or Push style. Does anyone have examples or pictures of the difference?

Re: T56 Clutch type Push or Pull
It is pull.
Its throwout bearing is made into the diaphragm. A normal push one, the TOB is a separate piece.
Might want to read through the sticky at the top of this forum.

Do you have any pics or examples of what this set up looks like at the transmission? I do not want to order the wrong clutch and flywheel. Some manufactures say push others say pull.

Doesn't matter what "some" mfrs say.
It's pull type. BLEE DAT.
Since there's pics in the above-referenced sticky if memory serves as well as in the extensive post on the FAQ board and in lots of other places on this site, there's not much sense in posting more. Shouldn't be too hard to find some.

Re: T56 Clutch type Push or Pull
In fact, I bet the post about 10 posts below yours, that I guess the guy that put it up didn't want anyobdy to know what was in it so he cryptically and inscrutably titled "T-56 swap with pics" or something similarly vague and non-descriptive, might have pics of some parts that could have been used in a T-56 swap. (kinda like, labelling your DVDs with downloaded **** as "NFL Highlights" or some such, so your SO would never suspect)
Just a thought.

Found the Pics, this matches what have, so pull it is. Tks
Has anyone used a Ram Flywheel 2555 & Ram HDX Clutch setup or purchased from LM Performance? I found them reasonable on LM Performance web site.
