Paying for 9 bolt swap

Can you guys help me ballpark what it would cost for me to have a shop install a takeout 9 bolt posi with 3.27 gears in my 2 series 9 bolt?

What parts should I buy ahead of time? I already have a good condition used 9 bolt posi with gears.

Thanks

Get a good installation kit from Randy's Ring & Pinion. That should be all you need. Probably looking at around $300 to $500 for the installation.

Or you could try it yourself and save some money. I just did exactly what you want for the first time. All the info is on the board. Probably take a lot longer but it was interesting to do. Have you checked how much life is left in the carrier you want to put in? If it's all original you may want to re-shim it and/or may need some machining done.
