TCC solenoid problems
Driving home on my way home from school, my tcc failed to disengage and tried to stall going up a steep hill. I had to have the pedal to the floor to keep the car alive. Later on, I took my car for a test drive to confirm the problem and my camaro ran like normal so I assume it was just stuck.
My question is, if it was just the solenoid that was stuck, is there a high chance of that happening again, or was it just something that happens every so often? I hear its a common occurrence in GMs.
Thanks!

Re: TCC solenoid problems
I'd say it's likely to happen again. Probably a bad solenoid.

Hmm ok. How much would that usually cost to have done at a shop? Or is it something that's simple enough to do myself? (considering I'm a cheap college student :P)

Re: TCC solenoid problems
It's easy. You drop the pan and 2 bolts hold the solenoid.

Re: TCC solenoid problems
Actually I've got another question. If I just temporarily unplug the solenoid, I should be fine for a 30 min stop and go route, would you think? And when I have time to change the unit, is there anything I can do to prevent the trans from slipping when using fresh fluid? It ran like new but I have no knowledge of when it was last changed.
