700r4 oil pan bolt torque

Hello,
I recently replaced my shift cable bracket and torqued the two bolts I had removed to the spec'd 12 ft/lbs. I hit a few random bolts to just to see where they are at and they spun quite a few times before my wrench signaled.

12 lbs is so damn low that I am skeptical of my 150 lb wrench. Is a 50 lb wrench more accurate at such low torques? My wrench claims 10-150 lbs.

I don't want to crush the gasket and I do not feel comfortable trying to hand feel a torque.

I do have a very minor tranny drip...so minor that I have had a hard time tracing its origin. Now I'm thinking all of the oil pan bolts are a little too loose. Or is a 10-150 lb wrench unlikely accurate down at 12 lbs? My wrench is decent....60 or 80 bucks or so.....

Thanks for any help!

I have always done them by feel and watching the gasket. When it just starts to slide out its tight.

10-4, thank you! I'm heading out in about 10 minutes to take care of this. That's the last thing before I can get her off the jack stands and back on her feet.

Does anybody trust a decent quality 10-150 lb torque wrench at 12 lbs? I guess I'm thinking not since they sell ones made for lighter torques.
