700r4 shifting issue

hello all i am still having issues with the shifting on my transmission, its shifting from 1st-2nd fine but its not shifting 2nd-D until 2000 which i know is not right, if i get on it she shifts that gear at 2500. i have tried adjusting the tv cable, changed the fluid and the filter, no metal shavings were present in pan, so i dont think the transmission is destroying itself. after i adjusted the tv cable i took for a drive, after i loosened it up a couple clicks and it started shifting a little earlier (1800) is this still an issue with my tv cable? or should i focus on another part?

Re: 700r4 shifting issue

i wouldn't recommend using the TV cable to try to adjust shift points...good way to burn up the transmission. use the how to in the technical section or stickies. also, under light to moderate acceleration, what speed is it shifting at? mine never shifts below 2000rpm unless i am seeing how slow i can accelerate. also, are you using the factory tachometer? these are known to be inaccurate.

i understand the tv cable as its an important part of transmission function. under normal driving its shifting out of 2nd into D at 2000, if i get on it she shifts at 2500 rpm. i have the digital dash im just using the tach as a number basis, i normally listen to the engine and it sounds like it winding up before this shift like it should have shifted before it does. its not shifting hard or slipping all other gears seem to work good its just late in that gear
