4.3 CPI motor Tv cable for 700r4 w/photo ??
I have a 1994 4.3 CPI Motor, It orig came with a 4l60E trans, I am installing a 700r4. The orig did not need a TV cable, The 700r4 does.
The orig bracket appears to have a place for the cable, But I am not sure it it is correct and also not sure where on the cam it should attach.
I have a photo of how i Think it fits into the orig bracket. Is it correct?
as you can see I need help with it.
Thanks
[/IMG]why is this photo not working, I am useing Photobucket?

Are you using the correct TV cable for your engine?
They are not all the same

Re: 4.3 CPI motor Tv cable for 700r4 w/photo ??
The cable was from the orig motor mated to the 700r4, I think it was a 350
I do not even know if the 94 4.3 CPI motor ever came with a 700r4...I think if only came with a 4l60E and the older version is TPI Injection..
also where on my cam would you hook it up to, if you look at the place where the bracket holds the main body of the cable it is angled kind of downward.
Thanks for the help on this...

As I said above
if your TB came off a engine with a 4L60E , there will be NO stud to attach the TV cable to.
The pic of the TPI TB shows what the stud would look like IF it had one which it doesn't so
you will have have to mount a cable stud like these

or get a TB off a car that had a T700

You need to:
Get on an S10 forum and ask for pics of a 1992 S-10 or Blazer with CPI / 4L60 (non-E) as that's the correct application to emulate as far as I know. Trucks went 4L60-E for 1993.
Get a CORRECT cable for that application. The 350 cable you're using is likely the wrong one. The 4bbl third gens through 1987, the TBI models 1988-1992 and TPI used different TV cables. It's just a lot easier to plop down $30 for the right one at a dealer than learn TV cable stuff in short order and verify cable travel. Guessing at all this and getting the pressure wrong will smoke a 700-R4 in short order.
I know what a a 93-95 CPI TB looks like but I have no 1992 references. Happy swapping.

Yeah; disregard the S-10 forum suggestion.
It looks like you need to add a stud; here's a 1992 with it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140725249297
And get the right cable.
And ignore people who suggest you look on Camaro sites for information about truck parts.

Re: 4.3 CPI motor Tv cable for 700r4 w/photo ??
Thanks guys that photo on ebay was very helpful, I found one of those studs at Autozone. i will go to napa and see if I can order the TV cable for a the 1992 model...
This has been a real project, It is a 1966 Jeepster Commando lifted on 33's with a stretched jeep frame and a 4.3 with a 700r4 mated to a 241 T-Case... I am thankfull that thier are fellow motor heads that are not so stuck up on thier rides that they can help other out on a differnet project...

Re: 4.3 CPI motor Tv cable for 700r4 w/photo ??
I recently learned some helpful details about adjusting the TV cable that are also useful in verifying that your cable geometry is right. The cable should be fully extended with the throttle fully open. We all know that. The key to having it set up correctly is that you should have line rise immediately as you begin to depress the accelerator pedal. In other words, the cable should not be slack with the throttle closed but should be snug against the throttle valve in the transmission. Then with the engine at full thottle the transmission's throttle valve should be fully depressed. You should use a pressure gauge to verify line rise as the throttle begins to move from the idle stop. You can also remove the pan and visually confirm correct TV movement.
Sonnax offers a TV cable correction kit that is simply a spring that goes over the end of the cable. It allows you to set the cable for proper line rise immediately on movement of the throttle while still allowing full stroke of the throttle without losing adjustment of the cable.
