LT1 T56 behind an LS based engine theory
Ok so I have an LT1 T 56 that won't work with an LS based engine because GM decided to have shorter cranks and the T56 shaft won't reach the crank. So they made the newer (98-02) t56 with a longer shaft. To do the swap properly you need to change the input shaft for a longer one and change the front case and bell housing. Along with all the hydraulics. Very expensive proposition but so is buying an LS1 T56
Theory: #1 get some sort of a crank spacer that would bolt through to the crank on the trans side to extend the pilot bearing out to reach the LT1 shaft
Theory #2 swap only the input shaft if possible and use the rest of the LT 1 parts.
Problem with both swaps is the bell housing isn't able to use all of its bolt holes to mount to the LS engine. 1 missing I believe.
Discuss!!!

Clutch release differences are what makes the fitment less than straightforward.
Purchase of the parts - sale of the others = less than a one-off flywheel.

Tick performance might have a cost effective solution
Was just on their site their rebuilds/upgrades are real reasonable. Seem to know their stuff
