T56 shifter preference?

Have a B and M ripper I bought around 2000
Just had the trans rebuilt all new slaves fork etc etc.
Sometimes still feels a little notchy getting on my nerves.
never occured to me could be the shifter (might not be) but I want it RIGHT. These should be silky smooth. Geometry and throw is about perfect.

Im not putting a stock one in, experience with other aftermarket pieces, honest evaluation?

Almost wondering if this thing needs a gasket under it maybe its binding the rod going into the trans when I tighten the shifter down. Somethings up clutch is releasing etc etc.

Wheres JMD

Working too much, wrenching too little.
I never liked the pro 5.0 and just run an OEM Hurst.

Re: T56 shifter preference?

I have the Pro 5.0 short throw shifter and love it. Shifting is very smooth.

Re: T56 shifter preference?

Im going to look for a cheap used stock one just to try it to see if theres any difference in feel. If so Ill hunt down a hurst.

OEM Hurst with a stock or just SLIGHTLY shorter stick will help.

I've been down this road too!

That is with a Hurst and stock stick...

Re: T56 shifter preference?

damn I love that vid got the leaving just right!

Concerned its the shifter itself long as its not actual synchros
Just dont want to hurt a new trans went in debt for this baby

So I will try another shifter if it still doesnt cure it then its time for a fork mod. Doubtful though. Thanks for the input.

Re: T56 shifter preference?

Fork to throwout bearing? Brand new
Same with slave, trans etc all 100%new or rebuilt.

Gonna look locally for a stock one this week if I come up empty handed looks like a local member has one to try.

Just trying to eliminate possibilities never thought about the shifter.

Theres no gasket under your b and m correct just silicone?
