T56 rebuild questions and info about clutch
Hello I have some questions about my t56 swap im getting into. I have bought 95 trans am with 6 speed and car ran great with no shifting problems and it has196,000 miles. I have taken that t56 out .
I have another t56 out of 96 camaro that I bought without seeing it run. Car had 95, 000 on that. I got that with brand new spec stage 2 clutch and flywheel. Which transmission shoukd I use or go to local tranny shop spend 350 for teardown and new seals.
Or should I send to tick performance for 1, 000 and sell 1 of transmissions
I bought the other transmission cause I wanted new clutch and new flywheel
196000 miles was that rebuild at some point clutch looks good

Re: T56 rebuild questions and info about clutch
Depends on what upgrades you want.
You're not getting out the door for $350; if you did, it wouldn't be anything like "new" without some $$ in parts. And based on the mileage and years, it's unlikely you'll be at $999.00 when done with that option.
With 196,000 it has probably been rebuilt. And the 96-95 thing isn't different enough to say which is "better" to rebuild. If the 95 box didn't vibrate in 6th / 5th, why not run that one for a little bit and see if any shift issues come up? If not, give it some mileage.
