U-joint cap size

Hey guys.

So, I'm going to replace the U-joints on my 83 Z28. I'm on Rock Auto and for this year, etc. there are 2 different U-joints that it lists as useable. The first has a 1 1/8" diameter cap and the other has a 1 3/16" diameter cap.

Which do I need? The descriptions don't give any recommendations.

Also, since I'm going to have it out to begin with, will the U-Joints made for a third gen work with a 4th gen aluminum driveshaft (if I find one)?

thanks.

Re: U-joint cap size

I think I figured it out (of course right after I post lol).

one is for a inside locks and one is for outside locks. A simple look under the car will tell me what I have.

As for 4th gen compatibility I guess it assumes what's on the 4th gen driveshaft that I pull.

Still open to any thoughts/comments.

thanks.
