Different size throwout bearings?

I just ordered a Hays throwout bearing to replace the Mcleod one that just completely failed in my car. They both say that they fit 82-92 camaros but the Hays seems to be just a bit larger. Should it still work ok for my car?

Hayes part umber 70-101 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ha...t/model/camaro

The Mcleod one is whichever one they include with the super street pro clutch kits that they sell for our cars.

Just look where the contact/wear surfaces are and line them up to make sure it lines up. Its the right I.D?

does it fit in the fork ok?

(edit) There is prob 10 different throwout bearing makers out there that can be used on it. Be surprised at how many parts can be crossed over to other cars....

Try it out and see if it fits/works...

I just noticed this looking at the summit link for the hays bearing;
Bearing Retainer Diameter:1.375 in.

Shouldn't it be 1.125 inches?

I only lined them up side to side so far, didn't try installing it yet.

Boy, I dont know.. let me grab my parts book and look. A friend used to own a parts store before computers took over, he ended up going out of biz, and I ended up with all the books. I have my own library in the bunker!! I might have that book. Let me look.

(edit) Google "Throw out bearing 3rd gen" and look at all the pics. Kinda helps.....

Re: Different size throwout bearings?

I just bought a centerforce bearing for it. Everything seems fine now. Thanks for looking.
