Ring Gear ABS tone wheel removal?
I'm just looking for the best/easiest way to remove the ABS tone wheel from the ring gear. I'm doing a posi swap and I'm having some fitment issues with the tone wheel installed. Thanks for the help.

If you need to use the ring again then be very careful when you remove it. I accidentally hit one with a hammer once and put a dent in one of the teeth. The speedometer wouldn't work correctly, the cruise control wouldn't work and it caused some other problems. I had to go back into the rear end and replace it with a new ring.
A brass punch and hammer would probably get it off if you are careful.

Re: Ring Gear ABS tone wheel removal?
I removed the tone rings from my 4th gen recently, I had to reuse them so I had to be careful.
First, I put the axles in the freezer overnight. Then, I heated the tone rings with a plumbing torch and carefully pressed them straight off with a couple of pry bars. As you could imagine, this procedure requires 3 hands so I recruited wife to hold one of the bars in place against the back of the wheel studs. Removed rings were in perfect condition and was able to press them back on to axles easily.

Brass hammer and a few bangs and you should be good to go. Mine came off with one Wack.
