There is no such thing.

No 8½" 10-bolt has provisions for the torque arm.

That's correct. You can not put a 8.5 or any other rear end in your car without major fabrication and modifications. There are after market 12 bolt, 9 inch and Dana 60 rear ends that will bolt in, but you will pay for them. The only bolt in factory rear ends are the '82 to '02 Camaro and Firebird 7.5 and 9 bolt rear ends.

Don't forget you could order a dana44 from gm back in the day, but you wont find one for sale, and if you do it will cost as much as any of the aftermarket options already mentioned

I keep forgetting about the Dana 44. They are pretty rare.

You can install a posi carrier, or a locking center section.

No the 7½" will not "cut down" power or take-off.

The gear ratio it has in it, however, might be subject to improvement.

Before you can go any farther with the 7.5 you must find out what gear ratio is in it. If you have a 2.73 or 3.08 then you are going to need a 2 series limited slip differential to work with those gears. If you have a 3.23 to 4.10 gear then you will need a 3 series limited slip differential to work with them. If you are going to keep your 26 spline axles then you need a 26 spline differential, but you can upgrade to later 28 spline axles and differential if you want to add a little strength to it.

There are several limited slip differentials available for this rear end, but most are 3 series only. The Eaton Posi is a very good one, along with the Yukon Dura Grip and Power Trax Grip LS. These are clutch type differentials. The Eaton Truetrac and Torsen are gear type limited slip differentials and also work very well. I recommend that you avoid all Auburn and Eaton Governor Lock differentials. Then there are the locker kits that you can install in your standard differential. The Power Trax Lock Right will replace the 4 gears in your standard differential without removing the differential from the housing. You don't have to reset the backlash or bearing preload with these locker kits, but they are not as smooth in their operation as the other types.
