Gonna show how I do it, I know the 4.8 will hurt the trans, but even so, I can imagine situations where it might be helpful to know what it takes, and costs. Feel free to follow along.
First step for me was ordering this: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/60-Deg...late,3280.html

Re: LSx to '94 v6/60-spec 4L60E

The biggest challenge is that the LSx flexplates won't fit inside the bellhousing, leaving the question of how to start the engine.
Note the adapter plate I ordered is intended to put the V8 trans behind the V6 engine, I'm trying the opposite, so the plate becomes a pattern for making a new plate, to which I could bolt a non-GM starter. Alternately, it's possible to weld a ring gear to the torque converter, then built a starter mounting bracket that bolts to the trans pan rails. Either way, flexplate work is required, whether trying the center of a V6 flexplate, or the perimeter of an LSx flexplate. As I have the V6 flexplate but not the LSx one, and I have starters for both engines, that may determine what I do. Not much point in investing big money into something that is temporary.

Subscribing. Just because I want to see pics of the adapter mock-up.

Don't forget to document the adaptation of the 94 trans. to the later PCM.

I had an LSx tuner guy do an integral-bellhousing 4L60E w/ PWM to my other 4.8, only difference here is the PWM shouldn't be in there ( I hate PWM ) so it should be feasible.

Re: LSx to '94 v6/60-spec 4L60E

While driving to my job this morning, it occurred to me that an LS4 flexplate should bolt to my crank, and should fit in the v6/60 bellhousing, making me wonder about the starter for that. Gotta research.

Re: LSx to '94 v6/60-spec 4L60E

Googling "LS4 flexplate" turned up nothing, but car-part.com turned up plenty of used ones, most are $40 plus shipping. I'm going this route. It'll be another month before I can order one, but no rush since the v6 is staying in the car until after the registration expires on April 1.

Re: LSx to '94 v6/60-spec 4L60E

Let's keep track. Prices don't include shipping.

60 Deg V6 to TH350 Adapter Plate $ 69.99 Adapts engine/bellhousing bolt pattern
LS4 flexplate $ 40.00 Allows flexplate to fit within bellhousing
PCM Tune to allow for early 4L60-E $ ??.?? Allows late PCM / early trans. use together

What starter will bolt up to the engine and mesh with the LS4 flexplate?

I'm starting to think a trade for an LS4 would be an interesting possibility.

Re: LSx to '94 v6/60-spec 4L60E

I was thinking along similar lines, going LS4, but they're over $1100 around here. I already had the adapter plate, I ordered it from Speedway 2-3 years ago for another project. But known-good 4L60Es are rarer than hen's teeth, and I like their ratios. I hate the 4L80E ratios.
The 2.2L S-10 torque converter stalls at 2560 RPM, 3.4L '93-'95 Camaro owners are reporting stall speeds over 3000, and they go for around $140, remanufactured, so it would be a fun attempt. When V8-spec 700R-4s and 4L60Es fail, it's never first gear, so even if I hurt my 4L60E, I can still try the 2.2L torque converter's launch.
I need a tune anyway to unlock the VATS and calibrate for my axle ratio and tire size, canned tunes have given me satisfactory results on my 4 previous combos. Under $100, so still low-budget.

And figuring out the starter is my last concern, my first is just getting everything else bolted together functionally. Gotta stop by Ipaco and get a 2'x2' plate of 1/4" mild steel for connecting the engine block to the transmission case.

Now exactly one month from taking the '94 Camaro in question off the road, ( registration expires ) and selling the 3.4L V6 out of it.
