Value of a Dana 44 rearend with a 3.31 gear set
I have a 87 Iroc Z that got rear-ended on 5/13/16. It looks like the insurance company wants to try to total it, need a value on the rear-end so I don't get screwed. It has 3.31 gear set, with extra 4.11 posi unit & gear set.

If its normal insurance I doubt they will care what parts are in it.
Try to buy it back and part it out

Like someone said above: Buy the car back & part it. Rear end is a VERY tough find

Like others have said if this is a standard insurance company they will not care. Only if you have collector car insurance do you stand a chance. At any rate as others have said just buy it back from the insurance company and part it out.

Guys, not that he asked for your opinions, but yes *some* regular insurance companies do care.
Geico treated me awesome and gave me 50% value for every single aftermarket part I had on my GTA when they totalled it ($10,000 in total). They let me buy it back for only $500 and it never once left my garage (I had it towed there after the accident).
