What trans are you swapping in? Any particular reason why you want an automatic as opposed to a stick?

First reason when I got car it had auto pedals in it. Another is I am building for drag strip and want the consistency. Car will be getting a ls 4l60 swap

Ah, I see. How are those 4l60e's when it comes to power? Auto transmissions are too complicated for my taste, but I'm assuming that it's less than the potential of a good ls.

Re: Installing auto into a manual car.

i am new to the site and bought my first 3rd gen. im about to dive into the same swap. i have an 84 berlinetta that came with a v6 2.8 eng and 5spd trans. i bought just a body with no drivetrain. going with a tried and true sbc 350 and 700r4 trans setup. i see that i will have to do the same as you on doing something about that big hole in the floor. using a different shifter tho-b&m- megashifter #80692 for the console. how did you get your neutral safety switch and reverse lights to work? where is the neutral safety switch located on these manual cars? where is the reverse light switch located on the manual cars? please help.
