Need help, recently was on the freeway went to pass a line of cars before my exit, but when my car hit overdrive, the servo blew completely out tbe side of the case, so we pulled it out bought a used one and rebuilt it using the opportunity to add a shiftkit and corvette servo, hardened sunshell, and a few other bits, put it back together and burnt it up twice before finding the tv cable to be frayed inside the casing, causing the valve to stick, just finished rebuilding again (3rd time) and cant find anywhere that has a tv cable for my car, 91 rs with 350 tpi and 700r4 trans, any help would be appreciated!

 

Get the right one for whatever year TPI setup you have. Don't worry about whatever sheet metal you wrapped it in. Leave that totally out of consideration. Even if it's some 1934 Hupmobile or something, instead of a 91 RS... doesn't matter.

 

{edit}Note that this is wrong: {/edit} That is because GM never built a 3rd gen with a 350 & 700R4. Get a cable for the same year but with the 305 (LB9) engine. Be sure it is for a TPI car (VIN F).

I thought the 700r4 was the only trans available behind the 350 in a thirdgen.

 

Um you could only get a 700r4 behind the 350 so all 3rdgens with a 350 had a 700r4

 

You are absolutely correct, I goofed with that one. It is the T5 that never came behind the l98. I'll edit my post...

As far as a TV cable, I looked on RockAuto for the '90 - '92 MY and nothing. For S&G I looked at the '89 MY and there are two cables listed. The ATP Y311 and the ATP Y752. I don't know if they are close enough to use, both are somewhat adjustable. Not sure if an '89 TPI TV cable is different from the '90 - '92 MY cables.

The motor isnt the original, from the factory it was a 305 tpi car, but it has a 350 tpi now, gonna try the summit one, says its for tpi applications,
