Strange Tranny Leak!

My 700r4 is leaking out of the speedo gear in between the speedo gear and speedo gear seal. I have replaced(with new Delco parts) both the speedo gear and the housing. The tranny is spotless besides the leak described. Any help is appreciated.

I always double seal the speedo gear. just remove the retaining clip, slide in another seal on top of the existing seal, reinstall the clip and presto, no more leak.

Mine was doing the same thing until last week. I had to experiment with different size o-rings. I bought two or three, and used one that was slightly thicker than stock. I started at the thickest, wouldn't go in. I went down in size until I had a snug fit, and the housing would seat. The stock one allowed the gear housing to slide in and out too easily, and kept leaking. A cheap fix though. I just took my old o-ring in to Advance Auto Parts and let the counter guy bring out close matches.

Leak!

Leak still evident. It is not leaking from the O-ring outside the speedometer sleeve. It is leaking from the speedo gear to speedo gear seal which is located inside the housing. Basically it is leaking out where the speedo cable screws on. I have two inner seals(brand new) and a brand new speedo housing and speedo gear. It is baffling me and everyone I talk to. Tranny is 4 months old. Shop will look at it in two weeks in the meantime it continues to leak all over my new exhaust. Thanks
