My 86 TA has been making these popping like noises as i shift from 2nd to 3rd,

it seems to almost stall out but will catch the gear and finally shift but its happening more and more often.

we previously thought that it could be the overdrive solenoid so we replaced the part and we flushed out the transmission fluid and put new fluid.

unforuntaltly it seems like that wasnt the main problem.

Am I looking at having to install a whole new transmission???
