V6 700r4 Rebuild: Hard clunk into D

So I rebuilt my 700r4 and I test drove it and it shifts through the gears great, nice and firm. Could not be happier with the shift feels. I installed a Sonnax 500 boost valve, a corvette servo and a Transgo jr shift kit. I installed most of the transgo kit except for the transgo tv valve. I couldn't get the pin that holds it in, out. So I said screw it. I haven't drove it much but on occasion, when I put it in D4 it slams into gear hard. And sometimes it just goes in normally with a soft thud like normal. I do have a surging idle I'm gonna fix soon. I know that can cause a slam into gear. Ive adjusted my TV cable as best as I could and it shifts pretty good . But I know It's not perfect. I doubt this can be causing the slam into drive. What are some things that can cause this as it only happens sometimes. Only does it when shifting into D4. R and all other gears are fine.

Re: V6 700r4 Rebuild: Hard clunk into D

Happy to say that my transmission is in perfect order as of about an hour ago. No more clunks. First thing I checked was fluid. I overfilled it by almost 2 and a half quarts . Jesus Christ. What I did after my overhaul was first start my engine without the torque conv to flexplate bolts so I can get it timed and running good so when I was filling my trans I wouldn't have any issues etc. On my first test drive was shifting good but I was revving high due to my open headers. Then it wouldn't shift. Figured it needed more oil. So I got it home and went to grab another 4 liter bottle and dumped too much of that in there obviously. But hey runs awesome now. I didn't even touch my TV cable this time and my shifts are perfect, right were they use to be after removing the oil. Feels great. Anybody need tips on rebuilding their 700 I'll be happy to answer any questions. I made my own spring compressor if anybody needs help.
