FABbot Kit to bolt an LS engine to an AR5 5speed possible in a third gen?
Looking to see if this path would be possible for an alternative to a T56? We all know T5’s are weak but apparently AR5’s can handle around 700 ft/lbs. I guess my question is to the transmission guys who are familiar with these transmissions is it physically possible to fit this transmission into a third gen?

The non-GM versions of that trans. are not a problem size-wise, unless you count shifter area.
I like their use of the 4L60 bell as an interesting re-use.
As for the ratios of the Solstice box, no thanks.

Are there different versions of the AR5 trans that have different torque ratings?
The AR-5 is a 5-speed manual transmissionmanufactured by Aisin. It is designed for longitudinal engine applications and can handle up to 260 ft·lbf (353 N·m) of torque based on existing applications. [1]
General Motors used the AR-5 as RPO MA5.

OEM ratings and aftermarket ratings are different. You won't see an OEM TR6060 listed as 700lb-ft, but the T56 Magnum (a TR6060) is.
Their claim of the AR-5 being a 700lb-ft trans on the referenced site is a stretch. The bearing package is good, but the gearset just isn't as robust as a T56, let alone a TR6060.

Definitely not a great transmission. On a cold day I couldn't get mine to go into 2nd gear in my Solstice
