bleeding slave cylinder for TR6060

I am putting an LS-3 andTR6060 into a 1948 Studebaker , engine and trans are out of a 2010 Camaro SS. I believe I got the slave cylinder bled. I press down on clutch 2or3 times I have a hard pedal(like stepping on the brake pedal) but no matter how hard you press the clutch does not disengage. I am using a small wilwood single reservoir master cylinder. Any Thoughts?

Re: bleeding slave cylinder for TR6060

Volume and piston travel need to be sufficient volume to move the slave. Consult w the Mfgr. of your master.

Initial gap from bearing to pressure plate fingers can't be excessive. If it is a stock slave, PP, disc and flywheel, you're probably fine. But shimming the slave to remove excess isn't a bad thing. Stock style slave cylinders can, when compressed, have an 1/8" gap and work fine.

The OEM master and slave setup is not easy for everyone to bleed. If you can get a one-way valve on the slave, and push the fluid back to the reservoir repeatedly, you should get rid of all air easy. Vacuum pumps, pressure pots, and other wannabe methods do not pressurize the system when bleeding like the master cylinder will. Use it.
