Car: 1988 GTA Trans am 1 owner since new
Engine: 383 built
Transmission: 1995 camaro t56 6 speed
Axle/Gears: 3.24 posi 9 bolt
Need help GTA 9 bolt
Dumb question
If I bought gear oil that is synthetic and it's gl5 is that good for the lsd posi not to chatter
I used gl4 once years ago and it chartered bad I had to get lsd additive then it didn't
I was just curious

That oil should work fine. There is no yellow metal in the 9 bolt, so it won't hurt anything. You may still need the additive. I found that Torco oil works best with the Borg Warner differential.
