What to look for in a junkyard 10 bolt
What to look for in a junkyard 10 bolt
I'm thinking about swapping a 10 bolt from a 4th gen into my car. The reason is because I want rear disc brakes posi traction and 3.27 gears.
My question is: can I tell what kind of condition the differential is in by pulling the diff cover and looking around? I dont want to get a axle that is going to have problems or is in poor shape.
I read the sticky.. I don't know much about this subject so I'd appreciate any advice.

that would probably be a good start. look for metal shavings and gears that look worn.
