One large and 7 small checkballs

I was just putting together my valve body and I noticed in my parts bucket. There are 7 small check ***** and one larger checkball. I can’t remember when I tore it down. I know for sure when I rebuilt my pump there was a checkball in the pressure relief port with a stiff spring. Does gm do weird ithings like this. I know it’s not the usual .250

Re: One large and 7 small checkballs

Maybe it’s my auxiliary valve body. I counted a total combined 7 that go into the valve body and case. I guess it’s called the #12 checkball

I think it’s called a 5/16 checkball and they usually omit it

Re: One large and 7 small checkballs

I know I’m absolutely sure that the larger checkball is not from the pump. I kept everything separate, I recall that I had to push hard to get the spring in the pressure relief valve while I hammered in the retaining nail-like pin into the pump. It was obviously fighting against the ball

You did catch that the 5/16" check ball goes in the case, yes?

In the ATSG manual, there's a leak check for the captured 3rd Accumulator check ball (#7). If you're already down the road, it'd just forget about it.
