Can I use a washer of some sort to fix my broken tv cable boot? (Transmission end)

Hi, this was my first tranny swap. I’ve had a lot of issues w my daily and my other car so haven’t had a ton of time to work on this car. My issue is, upon reinstalling my trans, I may have tried tightening the 10mm bolt along w the tv cable into the trans, unknowingly the “hook” was binding between the cable boot and transmission case. Long story short I’m a total idiot and now my tv cable is separated into 2 (just the boot) I’m trying to rig something up to join the two pieces together. Just enough to test drive my new transmission. I’ve put about 10quarts in so far and have a slight leak from this. Any ideas on a *temporary* fix? It’s not so much I’m being impatient but I absolutely have to test this new transmission. Ideally I’d like to take it to my rebuilder and have him do it, but first would like to make sure it functions normally. Figure maybe a washer and silicon? This is temporary, not a half *** job. Thanks

The problem here is the transmission fluid itself - I could be wrong but it will probably eat right through any silicone.
What about JB Weld?

yeah that could work. I had completely forgotten about certain sealants being corrosive from ATF. Honestly I’m not too worried about it since it’s not a bad leak to start with, only plan on driving it like 20 miles today. I’ll try to fit a proper size washer and see if jb weld is approved for atf. Thanks

Is it the actual TV cable you need? I may have one left in a box of stuff. Free for the postage.
