t56 swap?
t56 swap?
If I was to swap my 700r4 in my 88 formula with a t56 would I need to get a new driveshaft? That is is the main question but if someone could leave a parts list if I was to do that it would be nice and greatly appreciated.

the driveshaft is the least of concern. All this information is out there. Check the stickies at a minimum

Re: t56 swap?
Besides possible drive shaft, would need:
1) clutch master cylinder
2) clutch pedal (from thridgen with manual or can by repo unit from Hawks which I did)
3) hydraulic hose from master to slave, suggest installing remote bleeder line on slave
4) way to hookup several transmission sensors to your computer (backup lights, speed sensor, etc).
5) re-wire automatic shifter wires to clutch pedal (neutral safety switch, etc.)

Re: t56 swap?
if you swap a third gen from stock 700-R4 to a 93-97 F-body LT1 T56 and bellhousing, the driveshaft should be re-usable. Other versions of the T56 vary on input length, bellhousing length, and output design, so they would need a driveline change.

Thank you. How hard is it to wire the reverse light I know about the spedo and the neutral safety switch but I haven heard about the reverse if you could give me a quick briefing that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: t56 swap?
If you have an automatic wiring the reverse light is more than just wiring a pigtail. You need to get wires from outside the car to inside since the reverse light switch for the auto is in the center console. The manual transmission reverse lights go through the C100 connector.

Re: t56 swap?
No, he is saying you should buy the connector for the reverse light to plug into the trans. Pigtails means it already has terminals and a length of wire so you crimp onto you're own wire
Re: t56 swap?
Now, do I just extend cables for the reverse light then crimp on the connector or do these cables just not exist and if they don't exist will i need to get a new ecu?

Re: t56 swap?
Reverse lights have nothing to with the ECM. The reverse light switch is just like a switch in your house
