700r4 converter stall

Axle/Gears: 3.23
700r4 converter stall

What cars came with about a 2500 stall 700r4? I'll either get a rebuilt one or scrapyard converter. Don't want to spend 2-600 on a converter for a trans I plan on replacing with a th350

2,500 RPM...?
I do not believe any Vehicles were produced with a Torque-Converter Stall-Speed that high, with a THM700-R4.

Hopefully someone else will be more certain/ have more details.

Guess I should also be asking if there's a way to tell what spline I have. 27 or 30. Without having to pull the trans.

From what I have read you are looking for a converter from an early to mid 90's S-10 that had the V-6. I think it is about 1800-2000 stall speed.

Wanting a bit more than 18-2. For instance I found a caddie eldorado came with a 23-29 stall but is 27 spline.

Some of the Hi-Performance Corvettes had a 2,150 rpm stall speed from what I remember. Some of the S10's with the V-6 had them too.

Grand Nationals use the THM200-4R (27-Spline Turbine-Shaft) Transmission.

Right, but the earlier 700R4's were 27 spline also.

Yes, only 1982 and 1983 Model Years had an early 27 spline Turbine-Shaft.

The 27 spline in my old G20 stalled around 2,200 rpm. The 30 spline replacement based trans the local builder I used took it upon himself to replace my old 700r4 with had about a 1,400 stall. Terrible mistake for the application.

Ive had an S10 converter in mine for years. 2200-2300 or so stall. Perfect for a mild Thirdgen. I want to say its a Dayco for about a 96 S10. It was around $150, worked well behind the 305- works well now behind the 350.
