T5 lost 5th
T5 lost 5th
Can you swap the snapring with the tranny in the car and just pull the tail shaft?
provided that 5th isn’t stuck in place. It isn’t as I did the rebuild. Friggin thing has been perfect and in 5th going up bridge about 50 it pops out of gear. No more 5th and everything else is perfect

I stink so.
Prolly take twice as long and be 3 times as much effort as just popping the whole thing out. Isn't hard at all and doesn't take that long.

Yeah. You’re right. I just had to think about it a bit and realized…..yeah I can, but like you said….might be easier to pull it. I just hate being under there on jack stands anymore. Really wish I had a lift and tranny jack.
That and new clutch and flywheel feel great after previous clutch/hydraulic throw out bearing issues. I’ll just pull it and leave the bell and all attached. Need to find a guy that has lift access and will do it on the side.
I was just going like 50 in 5th up a steep bridge and it slid out of gear. No other issues….really sounds like the snap ring came loose and 5th backed up on the shaft.
sux because I put a lot of goodies in the rebuild and some 3$ snap ring comes lose.
