Howling sound

Hello all, I have a howling sound that appears to be coming from my right front. The sound is similar to a mud tire howl on highway for reference. I assume it is a bearing because it gets better when turning right. I lifted the front left and right wheel and the bearings do not have any play and don’t appear to be making any obvious noises when rotating by hand. I’m also thinking maybe rear Axel bearings but I when jack the back up, there is no obvious noise or play there either.

Any suggestions on what this could be? any troubleshooting advice is greatly appreciated!

Re: Howling sound

That sounds like a textbook description of a wheel bearing going bad.

Re: Howling sound

Yes, new front whee bearings fixed the issue! So no play in whee doesn’t necessarily determine bearing failure.
