3:73 Weird noise HELP PLZ!!!!!!!

I just put 3:73 gears in my auburn posi rear and new bearings:

Now for the issue(s):
When the car is at normal speed or speeding up, it all sounds good! When the car slows down to about 1500rpm (just let off the gas), there is noise from the rear of the car. It sounds like the carrier has extra play in it. The same sound occurs at low speeds 5-10 miles an hr.

The car takes off very well and nothing slips. While I do not think there is anything loose or broke It sounds like a clank sound

Also i put the car up in the air put it in 1st and let the wheels spin it makes the clank sound and it is not consistant also when i push the clutch in it seems to go away. I don't think it is the transmission because that was just redone as well and the sound def sounds like from the back any ideas would help out alot thanks Also the wheel make a simular sound when rocking the wheel in and out the doesn't seem to move at all but it make a simular sound. i shoke the wheel back and forth and it makes the noise as well sound the wheel have a lil play in it also?

!!!!!!

it isn't a very loud sound you either need to be out side of the car when it is moving to hear it or have the door open and it only happens at very slow speeds! The only thing i didn't change was the drive shaft u joints

Sounds like possibly too much backlash, or something is coming loose. I would take it back to the installer and let him listen too it.

Yep, getting a quiet set of gears from Richmond is like hitting the power ball.

I'd suggest you take it back the the installer for a quick inspection. It could be nothing, could be a pinion nut backed off or a cap bolt broke. One never knows until they peek inside.

Actually i am not bashing Richmond. My friend owns a 4 wd shop and specializes in rear ends and trannies. He's been doing them for 25-30 years now. One day when i was in the shop i was helping(if that's what you wanna call it) him change the rear end in a blazer. I watched him put that mustard colored stuff on the gears and maunually spin them. He was explaining to me he was shimming the gears, that way seeing where the gears were riding on one another. Then i was telling him i need a set of gears someday. We started talking about Richmond and he explained to me they're really good gears but natuarally are "noisy". Now don't qoute me on this exactly cause it was awhile ago since he explained this to me and i am not a total gearbot. But the way he explained it to me is most gears , the pinion rides directly in the middle of ring. Richmonds ride toward the front so when the rear end is under load it has less of a chance slipping off and chewing up the ends of the gears off. Makes them more durable but creates a "noise" to them. That may be what you are experiencing.

To tell you the truth i beleave it is the transmission! I put one of those scopes like the doctors use on it and the noise is louder when i put it on the transmission but when i put it on the rear it sounds very faint
