FTI Converters

Anybody have any experience with FTI converters for a 4l80e?? I'm leaning towards this unit

https://ftiperformance.com/products/...s-engines.html

It appears to be on par with Circle D in terms of build quality and reliability but is quite a bit cheaper.

I currently have a Circle D 10.25" unit but it's just too damn tight and it's a dog off the line.

If shipping wasn't such a killer I'd pull it and send it back to be reworked but I think I'd rather buy a new one and continue to drive the car while waiting for the new unit.

Let me know.

For more responses, might want to hit up performancetrucks.net, since there's AHELLUVALOT more people over there with 4L80Es and experience modding them.

I've had 2 FTI converters for a 4l60e and they have been great. I have no experience with a 4l80e converter from them but I'm sure it would be just as good.

Awesome! I've been looking up others that have an FTI and they love it. I reached out to the company the other day and I'm gonna get one from them for sure in a couple weeks. The price is just right too he's gonna get me setup with a unit that will help spool up quickly with a mechanical diode for trans brake use for $1199 + shipping.

A converter from Circle D that is almost identical will run double that price. I'm not even sure when a huge price spike happened at Circle D but hot damn that's pricey

I got the FTI converter. Haven't installed it yet but hoping to get it in there by the end of this week. Looks like a really solid unit

Re: FTI Converters

New converter installed and hot damn does it ever wake up the car!! The turbo seems like it's always ready to light off. Stalls around 3200ish and I'm actually seeing boost close to 1500 rpm! I'm not sure what kind of black magic the guys at FTI got going on but they hit the nail on the head with this converter.
