The lines need to be properly clipped and supported and protected from abrasion. Keep that in mind as you try to evaluate where to route it.
I am waiting on some Banjo fittings that I ordered and then see if there is enough room to make them work. I am not sure if it's because of the placement of the engine with the QA1 setup buts it wicked close to the tunnel. I can't imagine getting a 4L80 in. I don't think that I am going to go in the frame rail but I know its going to be a question if the line is to close to the header. I was also looking at making some 4th gen lines work with the clip in connectors if needed . Thanks Rich

Why not AN lines to get onto the frame in the engine compartment and then whatever you want from there to the cooler?
Prototype with rubber hose and clamps. Crude but effective.
Hard lines to the cooler.
AN lines adapted to the 4L60.
The flex lines swing up onto the passenger side frame rail. I did this more because I was doing a LOT of transmission and converter swaps and this made getting to the cooler line fittings far easier.
I never did like the OEM route alongside the engine.
