No Downshift??? 700r-4

hey, i donno what happened, i was driving w/o any problems, went to class and then after class was over my car wouldn't downshift by itself, punch the pedal, and it would just try to push that gear, i dropped the pan, changed the tranny oil and filter(while i was there),i ckd the tv linkage up at the throttle body and at the valvebody. cable is still in one piece, looks like the valve isn't stuck, pushed the valve in and out, looked fine. any ideas?......i'm thinkin about makin a quick ck at the fuel filter and if nothing, then dropping the valvebody and checking out the ***** and plate...(maybe 4th gear upshift sleeve got stuck???..).i have a b/m shift kit, convertor, cooler, deep pan, kolene steels and kevlar clutches, boost valve, full throttle fourth gear valve... 13 vane pump, ....rebuilt it bout 10,000 miles ago... any suggestions? i've been manually downshifting the car so it has some pick up now.....

Did you try simply reseting the linkage. If it slipped it could be not wanting to downshift. Is it supshifting early? Also, how hard is it to install the throttle fourth gear valve... 13 vane pump. How does it work? What rpm does it shift up at?

Thanks

Ben

full throttle 4th gear valve, not really hard, i did it with the valvebody out of the car, ......first disconnect the kickdown cable lever on the p/s of the tranny, then remove that valve out of the valvebody, at the end there should be a sleeve that looks like the new upshift sleeve...if u follow the directions, it's not that hard,

the 13 vane pump upgrade, the tranny has to be removed and the front pump dissassembled, and the 13 vane upgrade kit has all the parts needed to upgrade your existing 10 vane pump

i also installed a larger boost valve to accomodate the 13 vane pump......

i already tried adjusting the cable, no good........
i guess i'm dropping the valvebody tommarow.....grrrrr.....

Maybe the fact that you have a B&M and not a Transgo could be the problem... where ya get the 4th full throttle valve from? how much?

The design of the 13 vane pump body (aluminum casting)is different than that of a 10 vane. Yes, you could change it but there is no advantage. The Trans-Go Shift kit will address the TV valve problem & others. Check your governor out, it is possible that the problem might be there.
