HELPPPP!!! Put in shift kit, now car doesnt go anywhere!

Hello
I need urgent advice.

I put a B&M shift kit in my 89 T/A today.

so I put the car in gear, and go, and its going, and it wont shift out of first, so I figure the TV is off, so I try and manually shift it to second, and I may or may not have heard an odd noise from the transmission(it could have been a pothole)
Then the car goes nowhere.

I walk back to my house, and I notice one of the valve body bolts on the garage floor.

I took out the MTV spring, and the Line Bias spring, and put in a different spring for the pressure regulator.
I also put the check valves where it said.

I did not touch the accumulator, the insturctions said that when I remove it, a piston and a spring will fall out, just the piston fell out, so I put it back in.
I dont know if it fell back out, but I didnt see it on the garage floor.

Pleeeeez Help Me!

and for the record, I dont want to hear how BM shift kits are junk, and that is why my car doesent go anywhere.
I no there are better kits on the market, but I have friends that have used the same kit, and had no problems

Joshua

I have that kit. Did you remember to keep everything very very clean? And to make sure the fluid is full when warm? I would take it back apart and put it back together again, making sure to put everything back in. Make sure that little check ball is in the right spot.

yeah, everything was as clean as possible.
I didnt get a chance to check the fluid, I put in 3.5 quarts, assuming it would be enough to get me down the road and check it when after a mile or so.

could the missing bolt have anything to do with it?

I dont know if the missing bolt could mess it up, but it certainly cant help. 3.5qts doesnt seem like enough too me so check the fluid level. If its too low, it wont go into gear. Reset the TV cable too.

If you're not sure whether or not the piston fell back out how can you be sure other things didn't fall out, The accumulator piston is fairly big compared to the other parts such as check *****, etc.

3.5 quarts of oil is not enough. When you have the VB out, the converter will start to drain. Just dropping the pan alone is worth at least four quarts of oil. You should never drive a car with a 700 unless it is at least to the ADD mark (cold). This is after running it though the gears on stands a number of times and rechecking the oil. Then drive it easy to get it warm until, once it is hot it is at the FULL mark.

I'm sure that without replacing a valve body bolt that you've got a pretty good internal leak going on.

I'm not going to tell you that b and m shift kits are junk, but if they told you to completly remove the line bias spring and the tv spring that already tells me that no matter what the results are they won't be good on your transmission. All B&M kits do is boost your pressure, which in turn gives you a harder shift, but it's more like a bang shift not a firm quick shift like other shift kits will give you. Are you positive you got the filter back in correctly? Did you crack the neck on the filter? Remove your pan make sure the pressure regulator snap ring is still on correctly and replace your filter, if you already did make sure you didn't crack the neck also make sure the o ring is still around it. Then make sure you fluid level is good then see what happens. I know you don't want to hear this, but you may get a harder shift out of B&M shift kits, but it's not worth it in the long run, transgo has put too much time and reasearch into their shift kits for you not to use them
