1/4 mile... od or drive?

ok.. if your running 1/4 mile with 700r4.. sould it be done in od or regular drive?? how much diff does it make??

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I always race in drive, except now I have a Hurst Dual Gate and will shift myself. If your gear ratio matches your setup, you should not need OD in the 1/4 anyway.

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
If the car is set up properly it should cross the finish line at red line in drive so OD isn't needed.

I usually just start off in 1st to control wheel spin, the shift at 5000 but usually don't get into OD
