700r4 rpms drop off

Hope for some info or advice. I have a 91 T/A,305tpi,700r4 tranny.
All of a sudden, recently, my rpms are dropping off down to almost idle when I take my foot off the gas in 1,2,and 3. This doesn't happen in OD. Fluid was changed about 5k ago and is still full, red, and smells normal. TV cable is adjusted properly. Need to know if this sounds familiar to anyone and to steer me in the right direction to correct this problem. Want to catch it early. Trans has 103k on it. Hey tranny guys, are ya out there.

hmm.. mine had that problem when I bought it.. I never noticed it t'ill after I bought it.. turned out it had been replaced with a gm goodwrench tranny which had warranty.. I was lucky and it only cost my $100 bucks and the local dealer rebuilt it.. I don't recal exactly what the cause of it was though..

A recently retired tranny guy told me that it might be my unloader valve(if that's what it's called). He suggested to first try some trans fix fluid to try to see if it will loosen anything up. I tried the Lucas one and nothing changed. Then I took it to a local tranny place. They took it for a five minute drive. Without any other checking they immiediately said that I need a rebuild-$750.00- $1000.00. This pissed me off and I walked out because I know the problem is in its infantile stage. Thanks for responding. I hope some tranny guys like Leo or Probuilt will read my post and give me some feedback.
