Trans Go Kit

I am looking at a Trans-Go kit in Summit to improve my shifts on a 1988 IROC. Are these kits very hard to install with out prior knowledge of transmissions? I don't want to order this kit unless I think I can install it. My problem is that the 2-3 shift is very sluggish when I am racing it in town and would like to make it so I can shift it both manually and just let it shift automatically like normally. I have done quite a few modifications to the engine but now need to firm up the transmission to compliment the engine. I would appreciate your honest answers and thank you for your help. Dennis

I hear the transgo kit will help this but the real problem is the 3-4 clutch stack clearance is too big (factory specs).
I used to have a bad 2-3 flare until I took the trans apart and changed the clearance from .080 to about .030, it's a lightly modified 700 with no shift kit and works flawless now. I also drove a 1/4 valve body checkball into the third accumulator feed hole. (similiar to a mod in a transgo kit).
