no 2-3 shift

i just installed my B&M kit and after getting all the bugs worked out of the motor i finally drove my car today. well it shifts fine from all the gears (p,n,d,) it shifts just fine from 1-2 but it won't leave 2 and go into 3. it was late so i didn't get to check the tranny fluid i know that can be one reason cuz low line pressure. but if thats not it then what else can it be???? i also have a B&M 2400 stall TC in it. i only drove it up to about 3200 rpm before i let off the gas. when should it shift into 3????

Having same problem

I just put my rebuilt 350 back into my Z and I also put in a B&M shift kit and stall converter. I am having the exact same problem. But I have gone as far as 6,500 RPM's with no upshift to D or OD. It also coasts when I let up in 1st gear.
I pulled the motor out with a holley carb on it and it seemed to work fine before I pulled it out.
Everywhere I read they say it is the TV cable, but I can't seem to get it to work right.

I do not what you would have done to eliminate 3rd gear. Did it work ok before installing the B&M kit? Or were you having 3rd gear problems already?
If you have it in manual low, and it will not slow you down, then the overrun clutch and or sprag is gone. The transmission must be torn down to fix this.

mine works now i think i was just low on tranny fluid

but i have a prob. when i drive the car in drive it shifts just fine 1-2 with the snap and quickness its supposed to have but when it shifts into 3 it seems it dont snap and it revs little high and then it shifts into 3 and it seems to be low

or when i manullay shift it i have to wait until at least 2100rpm before i can shift it or it wont shift

and when i stop and just open it up when it shifts into 1-2 ok but then when i hit it into 3 it just raps up and i have to let off the gas for it to shift. any help on this one guys

i think its the 3 gear going out and i dont want to have to rebulid it cuz damm 700R4s are expensive to rebulid. please tell me its somthing iam over looking

The B&M kit does not address the 2-3 shift problem as does the Trans-Go Performsnce Shift kit. If you have only this problem for a short time, then the installation of the kit along with the boost valves and Corvette servo should correct this problem with the 2-3 no-shift at WOT. It should correct the 2-3 spinup at light throttle.

so if i was to install a transgo kit i would fix my problem with the 3rd gear?????

and with the transgo kit what would i have to take off of the tranny? (pretty much the same stuff with B&M. valve body, etc)

and in summit is the part # TRG-700 is that the kit you are talking about?

and pro bulit i do plan on buying a compelte tranny from you its just the money is shy right now so i will have to wait until the end of the year before i can get it. if i would have know this stuff was going to happen then i would have bought one before the cash was all gone

i just need to get this fixed and hold up for this race season and it starts in two weeks so any help you can give me would be very helpful

Installing the Trans-Go Shift kit now might help out some, or maybe solve this problem for the next year, it just depends on the condition of the unit to start with.
