swapping input shafts
how hard should it be to swap a V8 (26 spline) input shaft into a V6 T5???(14 spline)
is it feasible or not worth the agrevation
also, what tools would i need?

Well I would not recommend it but...
Once the tranny is out, you will need to remove the extension housing (15mm bolts). Then the top cover and shift forks(10mm bolts). Next is the front bearing cover bolts (??mm) and carefully pry off. Remove input shaft. Insert V8 shaft with all new bearings. Replace the bearing race, seal and reset the preload shimms. Put back together. The pic below shows the tranny with the top off (see site in sig for more pics)
While the tranny is apart you might as well replace all the bearings and do a rebuild.
I'm probably missing a few steps so do yourself a favor and get a GM Service Manual and memorize the tranny rebuilding sections and tear-apart diagrams.
By the time you are done, you would be better off just getting a V8 T5, they are pretty cheap.
My $0.02

Actually, you can just slide it it after removing the retainer.
THE PROBLEM is that the input shafts have different #'s of teeth and wont mesh. The thing to do, is put all the V8 internals in the V6 case
If you search the archives, this topic comes up weekly
