86 Camaro with a 700r4 just rebuilt. Same problem now as it had before rebuild in that it does go into 4th gear but at the slighest touch of the gas pedal it goes back into 3rd.
Back axle ratio is 3;23 and it is 3,000rpm at 73 mph.
Any help or advice, greatly appreciated.

 

Did you put a new t.v. cable in and adjust it properly? Who rebuilt it? Are there any other problems with it, late shifts, hard shifts? Give us more and you will get an answer.

 

You will have to block the 4-3 part throttle downshift holes in the TV plunger sleeve, (this will eliminate the 4-3 altogether) or change it to one that has a very hard to get a 4-3 downshift. Give me a call if I can be of help?
