99 10-Bolt swapped in for 86 Aussie 9 bolt
99 10-Bolt swapped in for 86 Aussie 9 bolt
How much trouble to swap in the 4th gen rears on a thirdgen. I understand that the axles are longer so my tires will stick out more than they do. Has anyone done this swap and have pictures? Will my 3rd gen rims fit correctly with backspacing (i think that they will) The rear end is a 99 SS 10bolt with 3.23 gears, disc brakes, posi and TCS. I dont care about the TCS, i currently have a 4 wheel disc setup from the factory, i would like to retain 4 wheel disc, will the ABS on the 4th gen rear mess anything up, ways to bypass this?
The rear end is a steal and i would like to replace this open POS i got right now. Will the 3rd gen driveshaft fit the 4th gen rear end? Thanks for any help i get in advance
. Looking forward to posi launches in the future

Hmmm, you've got an open diff 9 bolt eh? Where are you located? I might buy it from you.

I've got a 85 posi 9-bolt that I'm swapping out for a 10-bolt. The 9-bolt has 4.10's in it. But I believe the carrier is about to die. posi is slipping and i found metal shavings in the fluid.
