Look in thirdgen.org's tech section (off the main page)!! There's an article on how to make a dual snorkel for a carb'd car. You basically buy a junkyard air cleaner, and install the inlet on your current air cleaner with rivets, and re-use the junkyard cleaner's air tube. It'd definately be worth it!

You can also buy one from GM . They have one in the GM performance parts catalogue .

I never made a duel snorkel air cleaner but I have made an open air element air cleaner for one.

I was just thinking about the one I told you about , I know its for the V8 . I dunno if it would work on the 2.8 or not ? I know my car uses the same K&N filters and same box as the 305s and 350s use . but mine is fuel injected

That will now work for 2.8 carb the mounting base is square not round.

Wayne,
Four Barrel Carb (dual snorkel V-8)
2 Barrel the Blazer/Camaro
You "Can" use the dual snorkle idea.
BUT!!!!!
Your other snorkle will hit the AC or Alternator area.
With my S-10 Blazer, I'm gonna do this.
I have the carb's 2 barrel air cleaner.
First, I found the air inlet at the radiator support.
I drilled about 20+ holes there 1/4" sized.
Worked PERFECT!
My K & N got so dirty!!!!
What I will do now, is make a air inlet set up, to receive air from passenger side ONLY of the firewall. By my A/C firewall box area/above.
That's much easier than routing to get another scoop of air from the front.
Plus the front/rear air inlet, "twists" the fresh air in the air cleaner.
A plus!
Make sure you also remove the metal plate that's inside the Camaro air cleaner

yes it is the square base carburator and yes the alternator gets in the way but i think ive found a way around it ...plus i was going to build a small box in the nose section where the 3 holes are in the nose to collect air and tube that straight to the air cleaner ive gotta get more air that way ..what do you guys think...would that set up work?
