4.3L V6 Engine Block Identification
4.3L V6 Engine Block Identification
I purchased a Bowtie block from e-bay with a casting number of 10134388 and a date code of A270. Where can I find information about this block? I assume somewhere I can buy (or download) information on what type of crank/Max bore/lifters/crank seals/deck heights, etc.
Where do you purchase items like a good crank for the 4.3L?
Any help would be appreciated. I would really like to locate a manual on the block and a book on how to build up V6 engines for durability.

GM has a book that tells you how to modify all chevrolet engines for maximum performance. I bought one of these books for modding my 2.8 but the 4.3 is also covered. It gives some casting #'s etc. This book, couple with the GM performance catalog that KED85 recommends should get you everything you want to know
Additional information request
Thanks for replying. Do you happen to have the title of the manual you recommended? Additionally, I am at a loss as to where to find the catalog you mentioned from KED85.

I don't have the title as I'm at work right now. I'll get it to you on Monday. I think KED's book was the GM performance parts catalog. I got my book at the chevy dealer and KED got his at a dealer as well.
