2.8 vs 3.1
i have a 1988 2.8L camaro with 97k miles on it and its a dog compaired to my other 1992 3.1L camaro. my 3.1 isnt stock but feels like it weighs hundreds of pounds less, it handles 100 time better and the responce is 100 times better also. and my 92 has 125k miles on it, and im hauling a heavy system around too. the 2.8 is just a hunk of crap, im not saying they all are but mine sure is, do you guys think a beefed up 2.8 or 3.1 is better? id say 3.1
Id put money on it your car needs a tune-up .When I had my old motor in my car , when I first got the car , I thought my car was the slowest piece of crapola camaro ever , it looked good , still does . About a year after driving it , it started running terrible , I took it in to the shop ( at this time I knew nothing about cars ) I took it into the shop and the mechanic said it needed a tune-up . When I got it back , I WAS AMAZED !
....Look for TomP's Tune-up in the SEARCH , and do that tune-up ,you'll be in much better shape ! ...There's even a chance your car has never even had a tune-up . I think mine at 83 thousand miles had never had a tune-up !!!!
You can also hack off the bottem of your airboxes and drop some K&Ns in there , thats a nice improvement .Plus ya never have to buy airfilters again !

i was thinking about taking the intake off the 2.8 and puttin it on my 3.1, i had them switched before but only for a little while cause they didnt fit well on each other because of the MAS. i was planning on buying a large chrone intake tube and running it to an open air filter to where my air box is now, you think that would be cool? ill look for the tune up cause its going to need it if i go ahead and sell the car with the 2.8
