Heres my 3.1 after a dirty and salty CT winter. She'll be cleaned up nice in a couple weeks, and soon I will finish the conversion to red electrical tubing, its about 1/3 done.
But can anyone tell me the difference between the plenum and the upper intake manifold, the thing right behind the TB right?...are they the same thing....where is the plenum?? Tell you the truth I never really knew the difference. hahah

My engine compartment is dirty as all hell... this summer I'm going to try and repolish all my blue caps (dipstick handles, rad cap, oil cap, p/s cap), and I might replace all the hose dressup items (the stainless-steel-look-alike sleevings, and anodized blue clamp covers). If I manage to rebuild an engine this summer, I want to repaint the whole engine compartment. That would look sweet! I'm kinda tri-colored by now; the original blue paint shines thru on the firewall and by the brake booster, then I have that painted black.. the rest of the area is black, except for the back of the main frame rail (passenger side) where it was welded on from another car.
Combine that with many many miles of driving (just rolled 232,000 miles the other day) since the last time I detailed the engine compartment (years ago), and it's a mess.

I don't have a pic of the engine compartment at the moment, but I could get a digital pic tomorrow. There's not much to see though except for the MSD setup, box, big red pretty wires, etc, and dirt. Wait till I get some type of air intake setup though.

Man that's washed out. I need to redo them when I get photoshop loaded. This other program makes them too grainy when it resizes them.

That's why I changed the engine compartment paint to black. It was just a red washout otherwise.

Its a pain though. It dented my stock hood. A friend with a GTA had the same thing happen with his. He had to cut notches in the underside of his hood where teh hood braces hit. We had it at its lowest hight and it still dented the hood. So when I got my SunCoast hood, we had to grind the crap out of it to get it to clear the hood. I was not going to risk the Ram Air hood, so we clearanced the brace itself to sit lower. This meant cutting the bar and its mounting plates. It still rubs though and we dropped it over and inch. If I were you I would see if someone else makes one. But if you like the design get one and be sure to modify it to sit lower, or you will be going to a body shop.
I know the 2 point ones fit with out any problems, but I prefer the 3 point. I'm going to e-mail Edelbrock and see if I can get the demension on it and compare to other manufactures and go with the one that fits the best.

I know! I love the front mounted distributor... much easier. But when you try to clean the engine the first thing that gets hit with the water is the distributor.
