breaking in engine

breaking in engine

i should be done rebuilding my 2.8 in about a week. and i am wondering what you guys recommend for breaking in an engine? any help would be appreciated

Ther too ways of breaking a motor in, you can either break it in by ***** footing it around or you can break it in by giving it hell.....

You should try to keep the RPM over 2000 to help the cam break in for at least 100 miles.

What fahq said! I'll look up in my GM 60degree V6 rebuild book to see the break in procedure they used. I'm pretty sure they held it at 2000 RPM for 1/2 hour- scary stuff, eh? As soon as you start your brand new engine, you have to rev it to 2k? Yipe!
