Product Testimonial?
I saw a magazine ad for this stuff...forget what it's called, maybe "Engine Restorer". Basically, it's supposed to restore the compression in the combustion chambers of higher mileage engines.. And as we all know, compression means power. Does this crap actually work? Sounds like another 'miracle in a bottle' to me... I probably don't need it anyways...I'm only at 102,000... High mileage for other guys, just getting started for 3rd-gen V-6'ers.

i wouldnt buy into that garbage, IMHO
a loss of compression usually means your rings and valves are going bad
i doubt that stuff is gonna put new rings and valves in you engine for you

Its called "Restore", made for 4,6,or 8 cylinder engines. Its basically an additive that u pour into your oil after a new oil change, i have used this and did noticed a change in engine reponse, starting, speed and overall power, this is no bs, this product has been featured in Popular Mechanics magazine and Science Times magazine for best new product, i reccomend it
Can be found at any parts store

All be damned. No risks associated with it, right? Not gonna clog my oil filter, or mess up my rings or anything? I'm afraid about any additives. I still have oil detergent from like 6 months ago that I never put in because I'm afraid it's going to be too harsh on my seals and open a leak..

I had planned to use this a while ago, and never did. I ran a compression test on all 6 cylinders, and was going to put the Engine Restorer in- and never did. (Oops.) The only testimonials I received were those that drove beater cars, which smoked up the highway, and went thru quarts of oil a week. They liked the product, said it increased power/reduced smoke/reduced oil consumption- but these motors were already shot. Nobody I spoke to had used it on a good engine.... so those are the only testimonials I've heard. It'd be interesting to see compression tests before & after...

The stuff is actually sold in different sized containers for 4, 6, or 8 cylinder motors... 4cyl container being the smallest, and 8cyl being the largest. I suppose for an odd-cylinder'd motor, such as a 1 cylinder, you'd only use half of the 2-cylinder can.
Something I always wondered... the instructions say to "add this to your engine"- how should "add" be interpreted? Add it, as in, overfill your engine? The stuff is supposed to work "with the heat and pressure inside your engine". Or, do they mean, substitute this for the last quart (or whatever) of oil, so the crankcase isn't overfilled?

Thats a damned good point, Tom...I always wondered whether they meant to substitute it for that last quart. Especially with oil additives. I say they need to clarify their directions.. Hell, they can put a "Caution: HOT!" label on a f*cking coffee cup, but they can't make easy to understand directions for automotive products...where's the sense here?
