3.8L V6 in a 92 RS for only $2800 - IS THIS GUY ON CRACK OR WHAT?

Check this out...

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...&ac_afflt=none

a 1992 RS Camaro w/ the 25th Anniversary package (which i thought consisted on the stripes, where are they?) and a 3.8L in a RS, in 1992, i don't think so.

At first i hoped my eyes were fooling me, i say 92 and 3.8L and was hoping TTA, but then i saw RS and was like d@mn, so close... But is there any truth to this or what?

maybe it's just a typo other than that the car looks to be legit ( I had a 92 RS w/3.1 engine I believe).

I almost was falling asleep the other night on the couch watching one of those "police in chases caught on tape " shows on tv , I woke up when I heard the announcer of the show say " police are in hot pursuit of this powerfull camaro FORMULA ...hehe

Firebirds and Camaros have different anniversary years.

TTA is the 20th anniversary Firebird-1989

THere is a 25th Anniversary CAMARO in 92, but it's not a 3.8

The firebird was introduced in 1967 and the trans am in 1969. You have a nice car there stuart!

Big words there buddy.
Sure some days he can be mean in his post but so can everyone else. But this post is as stupid as they come. Its probably a typo and you guys are chewing this guy out, over something the editors of autotrader missed.

On a scale of 1-Stupid this post rests at mayonaze.

the guy probably saw an ad for a 95+ camaro that said 3.8L V6 and thought that they had the same engine....or maybe it had a 3.8L Buick 3800 Series engine swapped in? (definatly not the turbo GN/TTA 3.8L because those never had a 5 speed tranny....heh, I've been reading )

That guy was smoking crack. Chevy didnt do anything big to the V6's till 93 when they went to a bigger V6 w/ the 3.4L . Then they went up too the 3.8L V6. But the biggest 3rd gen V6 you could get was the 3.1L . Which I have in mine for now. I m building a 3.4 and then swapping it in my RS.

geez guys chill the hell out...the guy just wanted some clarification that's all...

That ad was one of three things

A)Typo
2)Swapped in a 3.8(doubtful)
3)TOTAL BS

yeah, but it is possible to use a 5 speed with the turbo 3.8, so it could be custom

anyone that's retarded enough to put a manual, let along a T5 behind a turbo 3.8 doesn't deserve a fbody or a turbo 3.8 engine....

nope wasn't directed at you..just stating in general that if someone went through the trouble time and $ i'd laugh at them cause they'd still be running a good second slower than an auto

ok cool tony

only reason i thought it might have been is because this seems like an attack 1991tealRSt-topGuy post lol

honestly, i dont know squat about turbos or s/c, except the golden rule not to use a manual tranny with a turbo because of turbo lag

must be cool to have a TTA motor................

its not so much lag on an import motor that revs to 7K, but the turbo buick uses engine load to build boost and is much like a TPI motor..makes power up until like 5200 rpms, its a torque monster..not a good canidate for a manual...a blow-off valve would help retain some boost but its still not worth it

as far as having the motor yeah its cool, but ughh i kinda blew up my trans behind the new power new trans should be here this week

sounds cool except for blowing your tranny.............

i'm debating what to do with my Z28.......whether i want to convert it to TPI or keep it carbed

i hear alot of cons about TPI

like originally it was only designed for a 305 so 383's and bigger cant really be fed well enough with it

it can be expensive to convert

everytime you want full potential after a major mod you need to write a new PROM

plus all the sensors and what not that it needs to operate

there are ALWAYS pro's and con's to a big swap like that...just depends if the pro's outweigh the con's in your mind..carb's are no doubt less expensive which is a huge factor...$ is a huge factor in everything

Make a post about a guy on crack, next thing you know, it sounds like everyone else is on crack too. I know the stuff is addictive but this is ridiculous! ( I CRACK myself up!)

Number 1. This post is getting locked. I think the point's been covered.

Number 2. I do not see what you guys have against 91 RS Teal Top.

Number 3. Moderators are just normal users too.

Number 4. He's moderator of a Regional Section...so consider his title merely figurative. His moderator duties consist of...logging in. That's about it.

Number 5. From now on..any bashing against ANY user that I see I will personally edit your post and leave it blank. Consider that your warning.

Thanks.
