Quick Questions? Anyone who works in a repair shop. Help???
No one ever seems to pay attn. except for this board....
When I was backing out my sisters car this morning,
I managed to get the door caught on a wall, and threw the door out of alignment.
Any ideas how/what I need to do to fix this?
How much would an average price to fix it at a local shop be?
When you start to close the door, it dosn't cloase all the way, and it looks liek it is bent at an angle. I am wondering if it is just the hinges, or if the sheet metal is bent.
Uggghhhh...

Well, I don't work in a repair shop... still want an answer from me?
How did you catch the door on the wall? Was the door open, and you backed the car up so the door "caught" and stopped the car from moving? Anything could be bent...

Yes it was open, and it was one of those rock walls, that has pointy edges. It looks like the lower hinge is out of place...

Have one of your friends wine her & dine her. Helps soften the blow! Or give her Boyfriend "movie/dinner" money
NEXT
Remove the door from car & check what happened.
I'll bet it could be JUST the hinges and the door needing cosmetics.
Cost?
What car?
Hinges used are kinda cheap (what $50-ish?)?
Really take it to a shop for estimates.
IT MAY BE CHEAPER TO SWAP COMPLETE DOOR!
Swap internal door panels & LOCK CYLINDERS & repaint & done.
COULD WORK OUT BEST THIS WAY!
SOME cars "require" fender removal for hinge repairs.
Labor is----
Your hard work to keep costs down/inline (serious $300-ish total I'd say.).
Know any Body Shop School Students that want a project?

Not bad price. It's about $19.00 a hinge.
That makes me happy
